  The ice detection radar is a type of IPR that can be used in the polar regions, designed to support scientists in radio echo detection of the cryosphere. The main purpose of the system is to measure glacier ice, with a detection depth of several hundred meters in temperate ice/hot ice, and a detection depth of more than one kilometer in cold ice. If you are working on a glacier, such as building a water resource model, then this system is very suitable for doing this. The ice-detecting radar Variant 2 expands a more powerful embedded processing unit (EPU) on the basis of the original model. The processing unit is equipped with a faster processor. The resolution distinguishes radar signals. The ice detection radar also includes a redesigned Nugen pulse generator and supports a series of different types of transmitting and receiving antennas. The antenna is equipped with an improved reinforced tubular protection, easy to work in the open, and to ensure smooth operation on ice. The ice detection radar is suitable for skiing, hiking and airborne surveys.

     The Canadian BSI ice detection radar acts on glaciers, ice sheets and ice sheets. It has been used in Yukon, Canada, the United States, Iceland, Norway, Greenland, Alps, Andes and Himalayas. It also helps scientists study ice shelves in the Canadian Arctic and Iceland, and began deployment in Antarctica in 2016.
