UpSim is a hybrid system designed to fuse virtual simulation with psychological training, as well as physical simulation with manual training.
The UpSurgeOn team began to analyze all the key aspects of psychological and manual training in neurosurgery: in any step of the method or in any surgical operation, psychological training is essential for the automation of the procedure. This is also critical for preoperative planning (such as patient positioning) and microsurgery strategies (such as the three-dimensional imagination necessary to predict the target location). Manual training is the most difficult part: performing microsurgical operations on super soft structures under the magnified field of view of the surgical microscope.

Scientific 3D modeling
Neurosurgeons and digital artists have realized the anatomical 3D model used to create UpSim through a novel process called "scientific 3D modeling". More than 1,000 hours of intraoperative verification: The neurosurgery simulator has never reached the accuracy of the UpSim anatomical model.
UpSim's manufacturing process is handcrafted by an Italian team of 3D modelers and professional manufacturers. Through a complex manufacturing process, we use super soft materials to achieve unparalleled lifelike UpSim. The assembly of the anatomical parts is carried out under a microscope and checked by a team of experts.

UpSim is a hybrid simulator, a new concept of training tools. This is a physical scene that interacts with a mobile application for AR (augmented reality). The application completes a physical box, projects the exact position of the patient on the box, and simulates all the superficial approach steps from the skin incision to the dural opening.
