  With the continuous innovation of weather radar calibration technology, it is possible to obtain reliable and high-quality weather radar data in a low-cost manner. The Swiss-made dual-polarization radar target simulator is specially developed for the needs of the weather radar community to generate radar targets with unprecedented accuracy.

  
  

  The radar target simulator can quickly generate a virtual reference target with predefined Doppler, range and polarization characteristics. In addition, every radar pulse can be recorded to form a complete weather radar test suite for measuring pulse width, phase and frequency, antenna mode, Doppler characteristics, pointing, etc.

  
  

  The off-the-shelf transceiver hardware is combined with a specially designed dual-polarization high-frequency front end. The received radar signal undergoes several stages of down conversion, digitization, modulation, delay and retransmission, which are completely related to the required virtual target characteristics.
