The ice detection sensor IDS-20, with cube-shaped and rod-shaped detectors, is used for reliable and accurate ice detection. Measuring principle
The innovative ice sensor utilizes the different physical properties of air, water and ice at different frequencies. By measuring the complex impedance of the medium surrounding the sensor, IDS-20 can distinguish between water and ice, thereby identifying the formation of ice. Increased data quality Self-check The formation and increase of ice depends on specific climatic conditions, which are determined by the air temperature, humidity and surface temperature to which the ice is attached. Now, the unique and very valuable feature of IDC-20 is that it additionally considers meteorological data for reasonable inspections:
The system is parallel to the ice sensor, measures the air temperature and humidity, and calculates the dew point and frost point. Then, the sensor system checks the plausibility of these data together with the measured ice value. Therefore, it is possible to increase the reliability of the measurement in quality and improve the ice detection result.
