working principle:
The specific surface area (SSA) of snow is defined as the surface area of ice and snow per unit mass, which is an important variable in the microstructure of snow (it plays an important role in determining the chemical pollution and climate impact of snow). The relationship between the reflection of the infrared hemisphere and the reflection of the SSA is based on the working principle of the ice cube. The snow sample is directly analyzed by collimated light of 1310 nanometers emitted by a laser diode. The light reflected by the snow is collected by an integrating sphere of indium gallium arsenide light-emitting diodes and then converted into voltage. Then a calibration curve obtained through certified standards provides the relationship between signal and reflectance. This reflectance is then converted into SSA through the use of a radioactivity conversion model and calibration using the methane absorption method. The technology is based on solid theoretical research and has been verified in common practice conditions
