2. Technical Principle
When the abundance of 6Li in the crystal is increased to 95%, the neutron detection efficiency can be increased by 5 to 7 times [41], the light output can reach 73000 ph./n, and the energy resolution under 662 keV gamma ray excitation It has been increased from the original 7% to the current 3.6%[5,42]. In addition, it shows excellent linear consistency when detecting gamma rays with an energy of 14~1275 keV [41]. It not only aligns With high detection efficiency and high α/β ratio, it is expected to replace traditional thermal neutron detection materials such as 6Li glass and 6LiI:Eu crystal, and use pulse shape spectrum (PSD, Figure 15) or pulse height spectrum ( PHD, Figure 16) can simultaneously screen thermal neutrons, fast neutrons and gamma rays, so it has great application potential in national defense security and nuclear safety inspection.
