Micro Valves for Microfluidic Applications
Miniature valves save valuable installation space and increase functionality. On top of that, the possibility of decentralized applications is playing an increasingly important role.
memetis GmbH develops and manufactures ultra-compact miniature valves and highly integrated microfluidic systems. Innovative shape-memory alloy-based actuators ensure increased miniaturization of fluid components and systems, resulting in high package densities. Next to valves in the life sciences sector, actuators are also used in other areas to achieve movement in the smallest of spaces, such as optical or space applications. memetis Series 09 microvalve normally closed (NC) and media isolated. The ultra-compact dimensions enable innovative solutions in the fluid sector. The width of only 5 mm simplifies the integration of a large number of valves in the smallest space. In addition, the valve has a very small internal volume, less than 4 μl.
Controlling memetis valves is easy: the current control controller can switch valves. The power consumption of the valve is very low, only 0.3 W. The inlet and outlet of the valve are at the bottom and are equipped with an O-ring seal. Of course, we will be happy to support you in implementing valve control in your electronics.
The valve can be used in a variety of applications. Since all components that come into contact with liquids are made of biocompatible materials, it can also be used in life sciences and other fields. In addition, the switching of the valve is silent, so the valve can also be used close to the patient, and the switching of the valve is not unsettling. The robustness and service life of the valves are also impressive: 10 million switching cycles and the material does not fatigue.
