FABION 2 is a nextgeneration bioprinter capable of creating complex structures using tissue spheres and various hydrogels with various polymerization mechanisms, including thermal, photosensitive, Ph-sensitive, and ionic-sensitive hydrogels, as well as mixtures of various hydrogels.
The main feature of FABION 2 is the high-speed printing of individual tissue spheres, thanks to special equipment developed and patented in the 3D Bioprinting Solutions laboratory. The main element of this device is the print head, which operates according to the principle of a turnstile, regulates the flow of individual spheres and their further printing.
The competitive advantage of this mechanism is the high cell density, as well as the high level of extracellular matrix protein synthesis within the spheroid, which ensures the high viability of the resulting functional tissue engineering constructs.
The printhead is calibrated using a unique laser positioning system for unprecedented precision printing at a resolution of 5 microns, allowing extremely complex structures to be created on the FABION 2 bioprinter.
