C. elegans and other small model organisms have many advantages over in vitro cell based assays for the phenotypic screening of chemical libraries for drug discovery and toxicology, genetic screens, and for human disease modeling. However their potential has been slowed by an inability to gather the high-resolution imaging data needed to detect subtle phenotypes at the speeds necessary to screen large libraries.
vivoVerse offers a solution to this problem: the vivoChip. A simple to use, but elegantly designed microfluidics device with precisely defined channel geometry, that allows lateral alignment and anaesthetic-free immobilization of up to 40 C. elegans or other nematodes, for high resolution imaging in any microscope. vivoChips are available at different scales depending on user need, from microscope slides with 2x individual devices, to multi-well plate format devices with 24x devices for larger screens.
