Advantage
Laser-Assisted Glass Sealing is a novel patented method of hermetically encapsulate solar cells. This method may be efficiently used to encapsulate Perovskite Solar Cells and Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells in-between two glass substrates, protecting the devices from leakage and harm from moisture or air. The hermeticity complies with the Mil-Std-883H and was proven to be more durable than the use of polimeric sealants as Surlyn or Epoxy.
The LaserBox is the second pre-commercial version from Pixel Voltaic to seal circular or square-shape solar cells up to A4 size. The ability of sealing at low temperatures (down to 80 ºC) and controlled atmosphere (Window Box) is ideal for Dye Sensitized Solar Cells and Perovskite Solar Cells
Application
It is capable of sealing 70 to 80 devices per day, increasing capacity to achieve the packaging of devices up to 1 square meter in area, and can modify the process to enable operation within the roll-to-roll production line.
Perovskite and dye-sensitized solar technologies have great potential as battery extenders for iot devices, providing more than 30% power conversion efficiency indoors.
