1 Introduction
Qualysense is helping seed breeders, food companies and inspection agencies achieve outstanding results in nutrition, health and safety. It combines two sensing technologies-3D machine vision and high-resolution near-infrared spectroscopy.
Each kind of grain is conveyed to the light source at a high speed and a fixed position. The color camera takes three-dimensional images of the particles, and the high-resolution near-infrared spectrometer measures the amount of light absorbed. These two data sets are processed by advanced algorithms that extract geometric parameters and biochemical fingerprints of each grain.
