Seed maturity is an important internal indicator of seed vigor. For seeds with poor maturity, the comprehensive indicators such as germination rate, budding vigor, soil arching ability, seedling formation rate and seedling regularity are reduced, which seriously affects the quality of seeds and thus affects the entire production. For this reason, it is necessary to improve the maturity of seeds.
With the development of production, people have higher requirements for seed quality. There is an urgent need to incorporate seed maturity into the seed quality standards in production, to achieve high-quality seeds and better prices, and to promote seed producers' attention to seed maturity. Whether the seed maturity can be controlled well in the production depends on whether the seed maturity can be easily and quickly measured!
As early as 1998, Professor Jalink discovered that the chlorophyll fluorescence intensity can be used as a probe to judge the germination rate of cabbage seeds. The chlorophyll measured by this technique is located in the seed coat of the seed and has nothing to do with the color of the seed. The measured fluorescence intensity was positively correlated with the chlorophyll content in the seed coat. Therefore, Professor Jalink concluded that the use of chlorophyll fluorescence technology to measure the chlorophyll content of seeds is suitable for most seeds. As the seeds mature, the chlorophyll in the seed coat will gradually decompose. Therefore, chlorophyll fluorescence technology can measure the maturity of seeds to help determine the most suitable harvest period.
Features:
IXeed CF is an instrument used to measure the chlorophyll content in seeds. Usually the chlorophyll content in seeds can be used as an indicator of seed maturity. The user can operate the IXeed CF through the graphical touch screen. The seeds are placed on a movable tray, and the tray is inserted into the IXeed CF to capture chlorophyll fluorescence images and visible light images. IXeed CF automatically analyzes CF images. For each visible seed in the CF image, a measurement of the CF content is performed. The output result of CF analysis is displayed through the score graph. At the same time, clicking the seeds in the CF image on the touch screen can enlarge the seed image and CF measurement. IXeed CF can perform mass analysis by integrating multi-parameter analysis protocols. IXeed CF is very portable and can be moved to the car for field measurements.
