Aurora Scientific understands the versatility and application of muscle fiber research, so we designed the 1400A series system to allow relevant researchers to accurately measure the various properties of the fiber. The system has a reliable and temperature-controllable test device. The device is equipped with a micron-level XYZ position regulator to adjust the position of the force sensor and the high-speed length controller. In addition, there is a groundbreaking function. The device has a platform that can be controlled by a software program. There are eight small baths on the platform. Specific baths can be automatically transferred to a specific location, and the sequence of movement can also be pre-programmed. .
Technical principle:
The 1400A system is designed to increase experimental output and simplify complex muscle fiber experiments. They can provide accurate muscle fiber performance measurements in a wide range of applications and tests. It is a breeze to use our automatic indexing bath board to perform forced pCa experiments. Pre-program the calcium concentration and activation/relaxation sequence to let the 1400A system do the rest.
Includes temperature control equipment, including XYZ micrometer level, with built-in mounts for our high-speed length controllers and force sensors. The bathtub controller adopts unique software and is equipped with a programmable motion control sequencer, which is used to automatically transmit the optical fiber under study in the bathtub. It also includes a high-speed length controller, precision force sensor, data acquisition hardware and our unique real-time Linux control and analysis software.
Our dedicated software includes a library of experimental protocols, which simplifies the process and makes it easy to measure force and length. When combined with our optional HVSL/VSL sarcomere length measurement system, researchers can control and measure length, force and sarcomere length. These advanced features allow researchers to fully characterize permeabilized fibers and perform all standard tests including force-pCa, kTr, length tension, force-speed and stiffness.
The Aurora Scientific Translucent Fiber Test System is made of corrosion-resistant materials and can be easily installed on an inverted microscope for basic observation or more complex imaging.

1400A-Durable system helps researchers study thousands of muscle fibers

In 2004, Dr. Hans Degens was studying changes in skeletal muscle function and morphology. Dr. Degens is looking to use permeabilized muscle fibers as his test samples because they represent a pure system for studying bridge mechanics without prejudice and artifacts. Dr. Degens is familiar with experimental methods using skin muscle fibers, but lacks the resources to build a system from scratch to handle the higher throughput requirements of testing human samples.

Aurora Scientific recently released the 1400A system. The system has an automatic indexing room, which can maximize fiber throughput. The design also eliminated any manual bath movement that was usually found in the design at the time, thereby protecting the sensitive transducer from damage. Dr. Degens' system is also the first temperature control function to use Peltier drive, which can achieve a very stable and accurate bath temperature, which is very important for these measurements. The powerful 600A digital controller allows almost every experimental program to be executed by the instrument itself.
