Features of MADMIX inductance tester:
1. Test the inductor under actual working conditions: hard switching, high current and voltage.
2. You can apply the same waveform as the actual application
3. The core and winding losses can be tested, and self-heating can be determined.

5. A square voltage is applied to the inductor to generate a triangular current.

Triangular flux excitation

Hard switching principle
The switching power supply uses hard switching to maximize efficiency.
The power sensor can "see" a rectangular voltage to produce a triangular current waveform.
This specific current waveform and frequency and duty cycle will cause a specific crossover in the inductor. These losses can be severe compared to sinusoidal excitation

Power loss is measured in the megawatt range and improved accuracy at high frequencies (MHz range). Inductance components (below 100nH) at low frequencies divide AC losses into core losses and winding losses or no additional windings. At the same time, the generation of BH loops is enabled.
