The Finapp probe, based on Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing (CRNS) technology, enables non-invasive measurement of water content in soil, snow, and biomass by detecting the interaction between cosmic rays and moisture, offering an efficient, environmentally friendly, and intelligent monitoring solution.
Technical Principle
Cosmic rays penetrate the atmosphere and generate neutrons at the Earth's surface. These neutrons collide with water molecules, particularly hydrogen atoms, and are absorbed, producing thermal neutrons. The Finapp probe accurately measures the variation in neutron counts, thereby estimating the water content in soil, snow, and vegetation.
Non-invasive: No need for underground installation; the probe can be deployed above ground.
Wide coverage: A single probe can cover tens of hectares.
Real-time data: Equipped with a muon flux measurement system, data can be updated at intervals as short as 5 minutes.
