ExoDiscovery™ is a user-friendly benchtop instrument designed for the rapid, label-free isolation of nanoscale extracellular vesicles (EVs) from biofluid samples. Simply select and insert a disposable cartridge, ExoDisc™, into the ExoDiscovery™ system. Each cartridge contains an optimized protocol for isolating EVs, including exosomes, from cell culture supernatants or bodily fluids such as plasma, serum, urine, or cerebrospinal fluid. Each ExoDisc™ can isolate EVs from biological samples in just 10 minutes. The intact EVs can be easily retrieved from the disc and are ready for downstream analyses such as NTA, SEM, TEM, Western blotting, ELISA, qPCR-based DNA/RNA preparation, or sequencing.
ExoDiscovery™ utilizes the patented Fluid Assisted Separation Technology (FAST™), enabling the gentle, rapid, and efficient isolation of intact EVs with high yield and purity — making precision science accessible for precision medicine.
Principle
ExoDisc™ is a centrifuge-based microfluidic device equipped with six nanofiltration membranes for six independent isolations. Each nanofilter is positioned so that the fluid flows through the membrane in a direction perpendicular to the centrifugal force applied by the rotating disc. This process, known as tangential flow filtration (or cross-flow filtration), is ideal for filtering fluids containing numerous small particles. It significantly reduces membrane clogging, enabling faster filtration with high recovery and purity. The patented FAST™ filtration technology minimizes the pressure exerted on the nanofilters, allowing for gentle (<500 xg), yet fast and efficient filtration. The optimized design of ExoDisc™, combined with this advanced fluidic technology, makes the ExoDiscovery™ system remarkably convenient.
