The CerePlex Direct system is a powerful, easy-to-use, and cost-effective multichannel data acquisition system. It meets different experimental needs of users, enabling high-throughput, low-noise, high-quality data recording in head-fixed or awake freely moving animals.

Optoelectronic stimulation experimental solution for awake freely moving rodents
This solution assists in studying neural activity and behavioral changes during optoelectronic stimulation experiments. The CerePlex μ miniature digital amplifier provides strong power for this stimulation and recording setup. It allows simple control of any given channel via the optoelectronic commutator. The neural signal processor in this setup provides real-time control with closed-loop feedback for each connected device.
This solution includes the CerePlex μ miniature digital amplifier with the CerePlex Direct system or Cerebus system, working in sync with high-power laser light sources (or LED sources) and electrical stimulators, enabling long-term synchronized recording of neural activity and behavioral changes during optogenetic and electrical stimulation experiments in awake freely moving animals. It realizes effective integration of electrophysiological recording, optogenetics, and electrical stimulation. The CerePlex μ miniature digital amplifier provides strong support for such stimulation and recording, allowing simple control of any designated channel via the optoelectronic commutator. CerePlex μ miniature amplifier (multi-functional) – a powerful miniature amplifier with a compact size and a weight of only 1 gram, ideal for small animals like mice. The amplifier features a 3D acceleration sensor and gyroscope to synchronously record subtle behavioral changes in animals; impedance testing function to measure real-time impedance of implanted electrodes, allowing easy understanding of electrode working status; built-in infrared LED for camera tracking; digital signal output with long-distance, noise-free transmission; amplifier cable can be shortened or extended as needed.
Commutator (electrical or optoelectronic) – prevents tangling of amplifier data cables and optical fibers during free movement of awake animals.
Multichannel neural signal acquisition system (CerePlex Direct or Cerebus) – prevents tangling of amplifier data cables and optical fibers during free movement of awake animals.

High-throughput recording experimental solution for animals
This solution enables high-throughput neural signal recording in rodents and primates using high-throughput Utah array electrodes and the new generation of high-density silicon electrodes, assisted by one or more miniature amplifiers. According to experimental needs, users may also choose other types of high-throughput microelectrodes for recording.
With the development of high-throughput electrode technology, digital acquisition technology, and high-throughput data processing, high-throughput recording has become a trend in electrophysiology. The system supports 256-channel or even 1024-channel data acquisition.
